Here is your introductory video so you can understand how history works!
The Themes Video is what I give my students the first week of class, it shows 12 Themes of History and a few Super Important History Points (easier to digest 6 points and 12 themes than 18 themes-that's daunting).
The video has been immeasurably useful in helping the students understand how history works since very few of them have a strong background anymore.
Congratulations, you have just taken your first step to mastering World History, and by extension, Current Events!
The next video I would recommend to you is The First Civilizations, this will be on the Ancient World Page. This covers a region known as Mesopotamia and The Fertile Crescent (an arc of land that goes from Mesopotamia down to Egypt).
Then there are 3 short videos to teach you about Egypt, India and China in the Ancient World.
After you've mastered the Ancient World we move to the Classical World (think Rome and Greece) when civilizations were so sophisticated that they laid the groundwork for everyone following them to copy.
For AP students:
You should go to the Advanced Placement page where you can see a summary of what you need to know from this era (major religions and other 'isms", and the Classical Cultures that still influence us today) as well as the Six Themes that AP World History concentrates on.
