For example, when studying The Renaissance and Exploration, go to the Early Modern Era page, which again, is a huge amount of material. There are review activities on these pages, and even though they are on a ninth grade-level they represent most of the base knowledge for the AP Modern World History course. On this page you will find several videos to set up the course for you as well as summaries of what you need to know for each historical time-period (the AP breaks down the first three time-periods into 2 units and the last unit into 3 units).

Good stuff to know before the course actually begins in 1200 CE
The Ancient World has several key "isms" for you to know before the course begins ("isms" being religions or philosophies). The video has a black background just click below!
The Classical World is super important to know because their influence is still with us! That's kind of what "classical" means, setting that standard. My recommendation would be too watch the video on the page of t he same name.
The Medieval World is a big topic, there are two videos on Europe, one on Islam, one on China, one on Japan as well as PowerPoint presentations on Africa and the Americas. And, of course, the course starts at 1200 which incorporates the Sung Dynasty in China (from the China video) and their nemesis, the Mongols!

This is usually the eaisest time frame for the students to get since it is the freshest.
